Got Sushi?

In Photography by dosiawhitephotography@gmail.com / October 24, 2015 / 0 Comments

Anyone who has known me well knows that sushi, or rather sashimi (raw with no rice) is one of my absolute favorite foods. It’s right up there with Filet Mignon and Maine Lobster! I can’t explain the cravings I have for it, but those who share my obsession understand when I say you either love it or hate it, no in between. I have been frequenting sushi bars for at least ten (10) years. I tend to judge a sushi bar by its Miso Soup and the quality and freshness of the sashimi. Sure, there are some really creative rolls that are both pretty to look at and satisfying but for me, nothing beats a super fresh, skillfully sliced piece of fish. Not only is it healthy for you, but the presentation is truly a work of art. Having lived in Valrico for six (6) years, one of my favorite sushi bars is Pacific Grill. It’s a short drive from my house, open for not just dinner but lunch as well, is consistently good and has a very welcoming atmosphere. I had lunch there today as I do about once a week and took a few shots with my iPhone.

Family Photo Shoot

The morning after Halloween turned out to be the coldest day of the year thus far with temperatures struggling to get out of the 50s by 9:00am. Having spent half my life here in Florida, I welcomed the first cold snap of the year as a reward for enduring yet another oppressively hot and sweaty summer. In addition, thanks to the frosty temperatures, the bugs and mosquitoes that had harassed me as I scouted spots at Edward Medard Park earlier during the week were dormant to non-existent. My subjects for the Saturday morning shoot consisted of six siblings and their respective families. With almost 20 people ranging from under a year to adults, the session was not without its challenges.  However, they were such a great and patient group to work with, I honestly had fun capturing them! Here are a few shots from the session.
